You are a student of Sociology 301A on the planet Lööyö'. Through the technological magic of M-mode alternative reality modulation you are studying life in the very distant planet of Earth in the last 21st century--their most turbulent era. Specifically you are studying alternate realities for one Jack Randel.

In one reality Jack is a school teacher in a society that is very different from one you might be experiencing in this reality.  In this reality Earth has learned to live with the crisis of global warming, peak oil and toxification of the planet.

In the other reality, they have not come to grips with these crisises.....

Once a week I publish an installment in this story on my blog . This is followed by the Concepts Behind the Fiction section. This section is filled with information and links for you to investigate. About a week after I publish on this site, I will publish on The Daily Kos, or Z Communications. Check my Links button to connect to one of these discussions. These posting will happen simultaneously and on a Sunday or Monday afternoon (depending on which day of the week I have off from my paying job). The day of the posting will be announced on this site. I will make myself available to moderate a discussion and for comments and questions during that time. A running Post of what readers think are the most important issues for our future and how to get to the future we want will then be created as part of these discussions.
